What happens when two 40 some odd
year old fathers load three of their boys into an old Chevy Blazer and head
out to travel around the United States for seven weeks?

Well, we took just such a trip in the summer of 2001 and this Web Site tells the tale through
pictures, journals, itineraries and various logs (e.g., wildlife, license
plates, bumper stickers, mileage, etc.). Here are the parameters:
 | Paul and Jackson set out on June 25th from Cape Cod and drove to Long
Island |
 | The Wild Boys set off heading west from New York on June 26th. |
 | For three weeks we drove west, hitting Cooperstown, Niagara Falls,
Chicago, Minneapolis, the Badlands, Mt. Rushmore, Idaho Falls and arriving
in Seattle on July 16th |
 | We met Carol (Mark's wife), Annie and Maddy (Paul's wife and daughter)
in Seattle on July 16th |
 | We drove down the West Coast over the next two weeks, hitting Seattle,
Portland, the Oregon Coast, Mount Saint Helen, the Redwoods, the
California Coast, San Francisco, Monterey, San Simeon, Disneyland |
 | Carol, Annie and Maddy flew home from LA on July 30th |
 | The Wild Boys turned East and drove to Las Vegas, Kingman, the Grand
Canyon, Meteor Crater, the Petrified Forest and onto Albuquerque. |
 | Paul and Jackson flew home from Albuquerque on August 4th; Gene
(Mark's brother) flew into Albuquerque to join the trip. |
 | The newly constituted Wild Boys drove on to Amarillo, Little Rock,
Memphis, Nashville, Shenandoah National Park and into Ocean City, N.J.
before reaching Long Island on August 12th. |
By the time we reached home in Huntington Bay we had driven
9,775 miles. Let us know what you
