Huntington Plays in the Louis Acompora Tourney at Northport High School
The Huntington Third Grade team
proved their mettle playing in the Fourth Grade Division against power
houses Harborfields and Commack. Though the younger team did not come out
ahead in the final scores, their play earned them the respect and admiration
of all who saw their games. The tournament set up required the teams to play
on small fields with only eight players a side and the games only last 20
minutes of running time.
In the first game, Huntington fell behind Harborfields 3-0 before rebounding
behind the aggressive play of Kingston, Coffey, Reynolds and O'Neil plus the
strong defense led by star defender Luis Puca and stalwart goalie Bobby
O'Neil.
After a long wait under the shade trees, the Huntington team took the field
against the crimson squad from Commack. The team played with head, heart and
hustle with major contributions form Adam Pomper, John McGrath, Patrick
O'Brien, Patrick Tinari, Jamie
Cronin, Nicky Smith, Nicholas Saputo, Tyler Moore, Dylan Rivizzo and Dillon
Haymer.
