4th Graders Beat Bellmore 8-2
The Huntington 4th Graders matched their opening day score, though they
played a much improved game in downing Bellmore 8-2. Once again, the team
featured a stifling defense led by goalie Bobby O'Brien, who continually
swatted down opposing shots. The defense, led by Louie Puca, Jamie Cronin
and Duncan Murchison, out-muscled and outplayed the Bellmore attack.
Meanwhile, the Huntington offense kept the pressure up on Bellmore form the
opening moments of the game. Jack O'Neil, Nicky Smith and Peter Kingston
each had two goals. Jack Wallace tried his underhanded shot early only to
see the Bellmore goalie block his shots. He came back later with a rocket
overhand shot to score. Midfielder Willie Coffey added to assist as he help
run the Huntington offense. Nicky Saputo, Teddy Blyskal, Patrick O'Brien and
Adam Pomper all contributed on the offensive end while Bryan Griffith and
Jimmy Roselle added to the defensive resolve. )(To see the full picture, double click on the thumbnails below.)
